A2P 10DLC Brand Approval Best Practices

Modified on Wed, 3 Jan at 9:49 AM

When you register your A2P Brand along with your Business Profile, LC Phone will forward your business details to The Campaign Registry for evaluation. This process will assess your eligibility and define the messaging throughput for your Campaigns. This article provides an overview of the Brand approval process and outlines our recommended best practices to guarantee the approval of your Brand.

Brand Approval Procedure Explained

The brand approval process begins with The Campaign Registry conducting a primary vetting of your brand. As part of this procedure, LC Phone will automatically submit your brand for Secondary Vetting, a further review that could enhance your messaging throughput and limits. Upon completion of this vetting, you'll be assigned a Trust Score, which determines your messaging throughput and daily limits on T-Mobile, as outlined in the document about Message throughput MPS and Trust Scores for A2P 10DLC in the US. For comprehensive steps on Brand registration, refer to our A2P 10DLC Onboarding Guide.

Maximizing Your Trust Score

To achieve approval and an accurate Trust Score, it's vital to accurately submit your business information. Here are some best practices and common queries regarding Brand registration:

- Use an EIN for US-based companies, not a DUNS number.

- Ensure the EIN and Legal Company Name correspond with your business registration.

- For Non-Profit and Political Organizations, the EIN should match the Legal Company Name on relevant lists.

Finding Your EIN (for US companies)

- Check the SEC's EDGAR system if you're a publicly traded company.

- Contact your accounting or finance office.

- Look on your company’s W2 form or other tax filings.

Tax ID for Non-US Companies

- All Business Profiles must have a valid Tax ID.

- International customers should provide their country’s Tax ID for Standard A2P 10DLC brand registration.

Guidance for Canadian Companies

- From July 27th, use the Business Number (BN) for Canadian Brand Registration.

- Enter your Provincial Corporation Number as your Business Registration Number.

Guidance for Companies Worldwide

- European companies should use the VIES VAT number.

- Australian companies should use the ABN and the ABN Lookup tool.

- New Zealand companies should use the NZBN and the NZBN lookup tool.

- Hong Kong companies should use the Companies Registry (CN) number.

- Other countries should provide the numeric part of their VAT ID or primary corporation registration number.

Avoiding Common Errors

- Use the legal, registered name of your business.

- Provide a valid EIN or Tax ID number.

- Avoid using a DUNS number for US A2P brand registration.

Additional Recommendations

- Check your business address thoroughly.

- For Public Profit companies, ensure the stock ticker symbol and exchange match available sources.

- Understand that company size, years in operation, and other factors beyond your control also influence your Trust Score.

Frequently Asked Questions

- EIN is mandatory for US entities; for others, use the appropriate Tax ID.

- If you receive an error or a low Trust Score, ensure all information is accurate and contact Support if needed.

- In case of company acquisition, use the business information relevant at the time of tax reporting.

- If your company’s information changes, contact Support to update your A2P Brand.
